Antique Heriz Rug 9.7x12.6 Circa 1920s Authentic Handwoven Wool Tribal Oriental Carpet Home Decor
This is an authentic antique Heriz rug, circa 1920s, in excellent condition with approximately 6mm to 10mm of pile, not to be confused with worn out vintage rugs. This is a true 100 year old high pile Heriz rug with magnificent colors and a powerful geometric design, made entirely with natural dyes.
The deep red background is a classic hallmark of old Heriz rugs. Traditionally, the wool was dyed using the Ronas plant to create a special shade known as Ronasi Red. In the Heriz region, due to the natural copper elements found in local rivers, the dyed wool was then left to rest in the water for several days. This process transformed the Ronasi Red into the distinctive Copper Red tone that you can see in the photos.
Professionally washed and ready to decorate your space. A truly rare and collectible piece, a genuine gem for any serious rug lover.
